Life as one of the server administrators.
Recently,it is being noticed that there are few servers here being uploaded with files as below:
===
performance4.php
err404.php
group77php
simple17.php
takes56.php

As I am aware of so far, those files were uploaded from host with IP , 213.182.197.226. Erm, someone from Latvia ? Well, those scripts will have ‘err404.php’ blast out emails , while browsing to http://domain_name/err404.php
Hence, I have blocked the IP from some server here.
Below is the log from server end ...

I have talked to “her” that I need those “new friends”, but she just do not allow me to get along with them.

Arghhh !!! How , what can I do ?

Mr A has helped me to “advise” “her” to get know with “the new friends” . It has been taken several weeks. Finally !!! “She” allowed me to get through…

Hehe, actually “she” is refer to my P1 WIMAX connection here, “the new friends” are refer to new machines which hosted in ExtremeBB.

Horray !!!

Yes, there was issue on P1 Wimax connections to ExtremeBB’s machines . Finally, it has been resolved.

I have been using the RM 99 P1 Wimax Home Plus plan for 2 months and so far the connection is fine. I have also figured out the login details of the DS 300 Modem , hence this allow me to do the port forwarding settings

Personally, I think P1 Wimax provides fast and stable browsing experiences such as able to watch Youtube video and listen to streaming radio/musics smoothly. However, it is not recommended for those who BT , Xunlei or download a lot , because the monthly bandwidth are limited as stated in fair usage threshold ( http://www.p1.com.my/wimax/packages_ref.aspx ) . You might check if your area there got WIMAX coverage from http://www.p1.com.my/wimax/coverage_ref.aspx .

So, quality or quantity. It is up to your choice.

I had signed up a free Personal E-mail Certificates account with Thawte 2 or 3 years ago. I have not used the certificate for some time. 2 or 3 days ago, I requested the new cerficate from Thawte , again . After that, there were 2 emails sent from Thawte:

1. The first one is sent with subject “Certificate Requested”. It is just a welcome message.

2. The second one is with Subject “Thawte Personal Cert Issued” , providing the link to get the certificate, which can be installed into Mozilla Thunderbird.

Once I clicked on the link, there is a dialog box prompted, asking for username and password of the Thawte account. After keyed in, the Mozilla Firefox had prompt me to download a file called “mycert.spc” . I had tried to install it on Thunderbird, but fail to. I wondered what this could be wrong, and how come last time I was able to install it easily in Windows XP .

Oh yes ! The point is last time, I had successfully installed the Thawte certificate into Thunderbird with Windows XP’s terminal, and this time, I did it in Windows Vista. Hmm, I googled around then to check if there are any issue for installing Thawte personal email cerficate into Mozilla Thunderbird in Windows Vista . I then found a great help from http://www.heypete.com/pete/secure/certs/smime/thawte/firefox.html

Yes, in Vista, there might need to have the Mozilla Firefox to run into Windows XP compatiblity mode. For more details on doing that, you migth refer to http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-compatibility-mode/ . After that, log in into the thawte account to get the certificate. This will automatically import the certificate into Mozzila Firefox . Then , you might export the certificate out from Mozzila Firefox and import it into Mozilla Thunderbird.

For more details steps, might refer to http://www.heypete.com/pete/secure/certs/smime/thawte/firefox.html

Yes, finally, I had successfully installed Thawte Personal E-mail Certificate on my Mozilla Thunderbird email account

28th Feb 2009, Saturday , Erm… I feel no senses on the climates, I was thirsty, that all I can remembered

Howdy all ! Have you ever experienced scenario where when copying large or huge files , after waiting until 99% completed, then the process was fail and stated something related on CRC (Cyclic redundancy check ) ? What is CRC, may refer to this link or this link .

I have actually faced this kind of scenario several times . What I would do previously were going to get the files from the original sources again, usually from my friends again to my external hard disk.

Around last week, I encountered the same scenario again. I have copied a file size around 2 GB to my external hard disk.It is an ISO image. I wanted to copy it to my desktop’s hard disk. I was copying the file and it took several hours to be completed and my desktop was hang during the transfer. Until the copy finished until around 99%, it failed. Yaiks ! What to do…. I have tired to experience this, hence I tried to search around online to check if possible to fix the file which has CRC error. I then found this, a simple application called, JFileRecovery

With few simple clicks, I manage to fix the CRC errored file and had it copied from my external hard disk to the desktop’s hard disk. Cool! Yo! Thanks JFileRecovery ! You have ease up some part of my life . Here is your picture

Few days ago, I have been hearing about there was a new web browser , Google Chrome. I have then downloaded the application and install in my Vista terminal.
You might refer to here for more details on this web browser. Well, as my personal testing and findings, Google Chrome is simple and user friendly. However, as comparisons with Mozilla Firefox 3 , it appears Chrome use up more terminal CPU and memory resources than the firefox.

“Error found as the page loading , loading and keep loading…” .

For the Facebook error , I have sent reported to the Chrome developers. Chrome comes with “Task Manager” (Shift + Esc) itself . You may terminate a “crash” tab and check on resources used by each “surfing” tabs .Clicking on the “Stats for needs” link will show a summary page for resources used by Chrome, including other Web browser(s) which running in the server as well.

Thats all from me. Wow, anyway , a good web browser from Google As beta version, this is a good one.

I vote Chrome as “Just Great!” . How do you rate and think of it ?
